I can relate to everything except being married to my ex. This made me cry.


So I finished a book recommended to me on here call, “It’s My Life Now,” by Megan Dugan. I was excited to read it because it is really hard to come across a book dealing with the aftermath of being in an abusive relationship. Usually books talk about planning on how to leave or what to do right after you leave where as this one talks about years later. I found it really helpful for me because PTSD and depression were touched on and were stated that it could take years for PTSD symptoms to appear. This book described my experience because I didn’t have PTSD symptoms until the beginning of this year, 3 years after I left. After I first left, I felt relieved and not stressed out all the time.
