The snake is a sly. It doesn’t strike it’s pray until just the right moment. It sinks its fangs into you and pumps you full of venom. It’s a slow and painful wound. In order to live and heal from it you must suck the poison out.

Being in an abusive relationship is that of a snake bite. The abuser will strike and  with each strike they leave you with more venom in your blood. It’s subtle at first to weaken you then it slowly creeps to being continuously every day. They poison you with their quick tongue and unreasonable expectations and distortions. The abuse starts to poison your thoughts, your beliefs, and your perceptions. It pools up in your brain like a puddle from a rainstorm. You take what they continuously say about you, your friends, your family as law. You lose your sense of who you are.
